La Herencia #80 Monday "And they all lived happily ever after... their secrets did, too!"

“Who wants to die first?” Pedro asks.

He explains to Sara how he killed her father, Dante, and how he killed his mother, Aurora. Then he goes to Julieta, who isn’t feeling well and has her eyes half closed, and reminisces about torturing Bryan and provoking Don Augustin’s heart attack.

At the ranch, Juan thinks they are the only ones who can stop Pedro, even as Lucas and Mateo insist they need to call the cops again. Juan is afraid Pedro will kill both women if he realizes he is cornered.

Pedro decides that Sara can chose where she wants to die. How kind of him. San Juan can’t save them now. Sara asks Pedro to let Julieta go, she is sick and she never did anything against him. When Pedro allows Julieta to talk, she screams for help and he says she broke the rules, so now she has to die. Sara continues trying to divert Pedro’s attention from Julieta, she is the one he should go against, since she is the one who rejected him. Pedro says OK, he will listen to her … and grabs Sara, pointing the gun at her. “Aurora” shows up, encouraging Pedro to kill both women, and he gets restless, just in time for Deb to arrive, holding a gun with one hand and Tadeo’s hand with the other (I hope that Tadeo doesn’t believe in reincarnation, because if the kid lives through all of this, he will have nightmares in this life and the next).

La Herencia # 79, Friday, 10/21/2022, La Fiesta de Santa Catalina!

Alright my friends grab on to your beanies!!! And I do mean pull down tight and hold on for dear life!! 😊 I tried to capture it all but there was so much going on in this episode that I may have missed something. Please please, feel free to add anything I’ve missed!

Back to Pedro declaring to one and all that Juli is Sev’s daughter. Juli admits that it’s true but she just recently found out and she feels horrible. Mateo encourages Juli to tell everyone the whole truth – it’s time; but Juan isn’t interested. He isn’t going to let Pedro distract them all again. It’s time to deal with Pedro’s crimes! Juli speaks up again and says she takes responsibility for changing the paternity results but Pedro helped her. He is the one who gave her the contact at the lab to get the falsification accomplished. Pedro doesn’t bother denying it and says it was going to be one brother or the other, either way a win-win situation (LOL). Juan disagrees and he calls his brother a bastard. Mateo is also unamused by Pedro’s logic and he jumps at him claiming he’s going to kill him. His brothers hold him back. Juan tells Pedro he doubts he has what it takes to be president of an international company, you can’t solve everything with lies. Simon states he now understands why their father never trusted Pedro with anything. Lucas says he doesn’t have the values or character for the role. Juan just starts to walk away and Lucas asks where he is going. Juan informs his brothers that Sara lost the baby and he needs to be with her right now, he asks Lucas to stay at the company with his brothers. Juan points right to Pedro and says they will settle this later. Pedro assures him he’s looking forward to it, he waves to big brother as he walks off.

As soon as Juan is gone Pedro calls out for security. He’s done playing with his hermanitos at least for now, he wants these men escorted out of HIS company! They are never to be allowed in again.

La herencia #78 Thursday 10/20/22 Notes from the Couch . . . A Tale of Two Brothers: He Who Hesitates is Lost--OR--The Early Bird Gets the Worm

This has been quite the recapping ride working on this novela. I want thank Adriana for getting our team together. It was great working with her and with Darcy. Also,  I want to thank all of our patio commenters (and readers) who helped make this show the fun experience it was.  To be honest, if I had not been recapping, I  never would have watched this beyond the first few episodes.  I am glad that I decided to stick it out.

As I sit here on my comfy couch, I am having some guacamole in honor of my last recap.  Things are getting way more complicated than I ever expected as we careen towards the gran final.  Hold on tight as this is off the rails!

1. Rosa is upset because Juli told Prospi the truth about who her daddy was. Rosa never wanted to hurt him. As far as she is concerned,  Prospi has always been Juli's  real father and the love of her life. (could have fooled me on that last one)  Juli has no sympathy for her mother and blames her for the whole mess. Berta and Adela tell Juli to have some respect for her mother. (Sure ) Juli asks what does it matter if her mother gave birth to her and then made her miserable?  Where do parents get the right destroy their children's lives?  (good question!) Prospi was the only one who ever supported her and Rosa took that away from her.  Adela tells her that her father Prospi will be the only pillar of strength that she can depend on for her whole life. She advises her not to let him go because when he is not around, she will cry the most bitter tears of her life.

La herencia #77 Wednesday 10/19/22 Another Valuable PSA: Don't Poke the Bear Unless You are a Bear Yourself--OR-- Time to Get Going While the Going is Good

Things just keep getting crazier!

1. Juli shows up at Sara's door to tell her everything  she does not know: the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

2. Pedro wonders where Juan is coming from first accusing him of being a murderer and now a serial killer! Juan doesn't see how Pedro can take the fact that Deb is accusing him of having killed Dante so lightly. Pedro can only ask what proof she has and  smirks. Juan tells Pedro that he has  looked out for him his whole life but if he finds out that he had something to do with Dante's disappearance, he will have no pity for him.  Pedro asks when did he stop being his brother and turned him into a criminal?  Juan admits that he justified so many of Pedro's actions because of their mothers' return but his anger went too far. Pedro plays victim and insists that Juan turned his back on him and treated him like scum. He feels sometimes like Juan would like it if he were to disappear. He laughs through the smirk. Juan tells him he is so full of hatred and resentment that he is unable  to see reality as it is. Pedro wants  to know what Juan sees as reality.  Juan says that in spite of everything,  he wants them to  continue loving each other.  Pedro does  not look convinced.

La Herencia #76 Tuesday "The brain tumor made her do it... we can all assume"

Sara has to admit that Dante is her father, Pedro told her. Sara is sure Pedro is only trying to separate her from Juan, Mateo can’t believe Dante has been their lawyer all this time and Simon wants to know if she ever suspected anything about her connection to Dante. Sara says she never had a father, she needs to know what happened, too and she feels awful about it. It’s up to them to decide what they plan to do about her.

Simon wants to go make a complaint against Deb and Dante and Sara should give up the Del Monte name also. Pedro is happy with this decision, but Sara looks heartbroken. She knows she doesn’t have the right to the name, but she’s not that different from them – her real father never wanted her, but a different man agreed to protect her and take care of her. She loves them all, so she will let them decide her destiny. She will accept no matter what they say. As Sara leaves crying, Juan says he is very thankful Sara arrived at the ranch, she is the love of his life. He had their parents to sustain him and he had them to teach him about brotherhood.  Pedro takes offence to this, he was already his brother before the Del Montes rescued them. Juan gets mad, too bad Pedro will only understand Sara’s words when it will be too late. Pedro is tired of San Juan’s good guy routine, he can keep his adoptados and have another baby with that scammer if he wants. Juan gets really mad now, punches Pedro! And it’s a big, nose bleeding punch!

La herencia #75 Monday "Fathers and daughters "

This episode has been written out of order, scenes have been combined or switched...

The WTF Edition

Juli comes to see Mateo at the ranch, to talk about her parents’ failed vow renewal. Mateo feels bad because Rosa is not the only one to blame, Sev had his part in the affair, too. And Juli says she herslef acted no better, so she can’t judge her mother. If she could only turn back time… she should have never rejected Mateo, they should have been together all along. Mateo asks if she is being serious, is this a game for her? Juli knows she’s done horrible things, but she never wants to be away from him again. They hug and cry. (The Patio does some crying too, from all the hair pulling and beanie tightening)

Mateo wants Julieta to move back into the ranch (is he drinking again?), Juli is afraid of Sara’s reaction. Mateo says he has rights, too, and their child will be an heir. Juli is sick of hearing about this inheritance that has caused so much pain; she couldn’t understand when he first gave up his money, but she gets it now. Mateo promises to take care of her no matter what… Juli asks him to feel the baby and Mateo speaks to his child.

Then Juli apologizes again for all the pain she’s caused. Mateo says that he can’t love her more than he loves himself (that’s not what I’m seeing). Juli admits that she was obsessed with Juan, couldn’t see that Mateo was willing to give her everything. Mateo explains that when they first met he had very low self-esteem, but even then he knew that her love for him was real and she will one day see it. Julieta says she finally understands that Sev’s only legacy was love. Would Mateo marry her?

La Herencia # 74, Friday, 10/14/2022, Life Altering Revelations/ Who's Your Daddy?

We open on a repeat of Pedro's grand revelation to Sara that her father not is THEIR father Sevaranio Del Monte. He’s referring to her real father, Dante!! Cara de Impactada for Sara.

Elsewhere Rosa is reacting to Deb’s grand revelation at her wedding by screaming ‘Deborah’ about the way you would scream ‘Viper’! She gets all in her face. Prospi briefly tries to restrain her but then lets her go for Deb, as he instead turns his attention to the letters now on the floor. Adela takes Prospi's position trying to hold Rosa back but Rosa is almost immediately distracted anyway when she noticed Prospi go for the letters, she begs Prospi not to read the letters. Deb is much more interested in watching the fall out than she is in fighting with Rosa. Rosa insists the letters are lies but Prospi reads them anyway. The smile on Prospi face looks a little sinister…. but then maybe he’s just shocked and trying not to cry.

Sara thinks Pedro is making up lies to hurt her since she rejected him. Pedro asks if she really thinks she’s that important to him and she says yes and it’s sad he would stoop that low.  Pedro accuses Sara of being in on the scheme with Deb and Dante and coming to Santa Catalina to make idiots out of all of them to steal their inheritance. They trade insults and accusations and somehow even now, Sara jumps to the defense of dear ol' mom when Pedro basically calls her a whore. Pedro tells Sara to go ahead and ask dear mommy what the truth is, if she doesn’t believe him. You know since she can’t ask either potential father as one is deceased and the other is missing.

La Herencia #73 Thursday "Blame the beasts and the dead !"

Deb and Pedro are fighting in the chamber of torture. What if Sara found out that you were willing to “sell” her to me? Pedro asks. Or that she is not Sev’s daughter? Deb’s reply is that she will tell everyone about his connection to Henry – before disappearing, Dante told her about his longstanding partnership with Henry, that was ruined when they decided to make Pedro part of their team. And if he plans to play Pedro el Torturador with her, all this info will be sent to Juan. For once Pedro is speechless.

Adela thinks they should cancel their wedding with everything that is happening, but Sal is certain that now, more than ever, they need to stand together. Prospi and Rosa arrive, upset over the fact that Juli is in the hospital because she tried to harm herself (not exactly right, she tried to harm her innocent baby). Rosa apologizes to Adela (and this time she really means it), she’s treated Bryan so badly while Adela has always been kind to Jessica. She adds that she has to make up for many past mistakes, Prospi says there will be no vow renewal for now, without Juli it wouldn’t be the same. They don’t know how long she will have to be locked up, the doctors said she has a mental crisis. Sal and Adela want to postpone, too, Rosa says there is no need, but they both insists and Rosa is moved by their solidarity.

Adela mentions they have big problems, too, Rosa apologizes for not having asked but she is very worried for Julieta. Adela says they can all be in pain at the same time, heartbreak spare nobody.

La herencia #72 Wednesday 10/12/21 Notes from the Couch . . . and a PSA for the Patio Peeps

This is no way complete so feel free, even more than free, to add anything I omitted.

I confess that I had to spend way longer on the couch than I planned on  because there were way too may details that needed to be included as we head to the gran final and see justice done  on Monday 10/24.

Pedro plays the victim .

Adela finds out that Pedro kicked them out because  Brayan and Cornelio  attacked him. Pedro warns Brayan if he files a complaint,  it will be their word against his. Nobody plays with him.  (Ooo, he punctuates that  with a nice crunchy bite on an apple. ) Juan finally moves his butt along with Simón and Sara to Adela's and sees the damage that Pedro has done. Cornelio tells Juan that Pedro is not the person Juan thinks he is. Pedro pops up in the doorway asking Cornelio what kind of person is he then??? Pedro tells everyone that Cornelio and Bryan attacked him and tried to kill him.  Brayan surges to the front of the group and accuses Pedro of trying to kill him.  Juan is shocked!!!  Juan calls for Mateo and Lucas to come to the hacienda because Pedro kicked the Cruz daily out of their house.  Pedro warns Brayan  not go around defaming him or to be influenced by stupid Cornelio's plan for revenge. Brayan makes it clear that he doesn't lie and that Pedro played some dirty tricks on him and then tortured him. Juan grabs Pedro by the neck and  demands that Pedro tells him then and now what Brayan is talking about. Sara is stupid and helps pull Juan off of Pedro when he starts  telling Juan to let him go. Juan tells him he had no right to do what he did with the house. It technically is on land that belongs to him. Pedro says they did not have the right to do a sneak attack on him. If Brayan is so sure that he tried to kill him, let him prove it. Pedro then turns his venom on Juan. He is  surprised that he is not on his side but on "their" side. He understands that they are  the "defenseless" and the "innocent" while he is the "devil himself."

La herencia #71 Tuesday 10/11/21 The Tea Cup Tango--OR--Juli Jumps Off the Deep End

 Here we go!

1. At her apartment, Sara first makes Juan's cup of tea and then talks with Juan and finds out that Pedro is the owner of Campo Verde. That is where all of their clients are going.  Psycho Pedro was also the one who stole the money from the company and their father.  Juan admits that he lied to protect him. Sara is looking less than impressed.

2. Prospi is angrily telling Berta and Rosa that Mateo will not be putting a foot in their home again. He also announces that as far as Alondra is concerned, he does not want her near any of the Del Monte boys either. He now knows that Sal was right about those damn Del Montes.

3. At Adela's house, Adela tells Jessica that she never had any kind of friendship with Pedro. It was all about the work but she does remember one time when he did come by the house. She remembers Pedro  threatening them by telling them to get used to leaving the hacienda because  that if the  hacienda  had too much of something, it was  hired help. She tells Jessica and Brandon about the threat and how Pedro seemed like somebody she didn't know. Jessica finds that weird. Adela goes on to explain that Pedro has always been different from his brothers. As for Brayan, he told her he wanted to quit working at the hacienda, but never told her why. Jessica wonders if Pedro threatened him which gives Adela something to think about.

La Herencia #70 Monday "The good guys start using their brains"

Sara walks in on Deb and Juan and contradicts her mother’s jibberish, by saying that she and Juan are going to unite for their son and their family. She heard all of Deb’s words, and she’s back to talk to her brothers. She promises to Juan none of Deb’s words about her are true. Juan believes her. She wants to speak to the others first, but she asks Deb to talk later at the apartment.

Juli accuses Rosa of always pushing her towards Juan. They could have never been happy together. Juan doesn’t love her! Rosa admits she wanted her daughters to be happy no matter what and realizes the one who loves Julieta is Mateo. But Juli can’t even hear his name, she hates him and the child she’s carrying so much! Rosa is shocked by these words, but Juli doesn’t care. Maybe Rosa can finally see the magnitude of her mistake.

Crazy-eyed again after Deb destroyed his parents’ portrait, Simon looks almost catatonic while Paloma tries to keep him off the edge (who needs a baby when you have a Simon, am I right, Paloma?). Think about the present and our future, Paloma says and Simon’s answer is to remind her and the Patio how much he hates Deborah (as if any of us ever had the time to forget about that). He does wonder about what she said about Paloma’s father, but Paloma insists her dad is Salvador. They kiss and Paloma promises to put back the portrait.

La Herencia # 69, Friday, 10/7/2022, New Beginnings & Endless Daddy Issues

We return to Juli’s downfall and once again hear her arrogantly declare to Mateo that the baby is his but no one is ever going to know, everyone will continue believing the child is his nephew/niece. Juli comes into the main room and immediately starts making her denials when Juan demands to know how she could have done this! Juli tries to convince him that the baby really is his and what they all overheard was her lying to Mateo because she’s tired of his harassment. Juan isn’t buying this for a second. Juli looks to Pedro who gives her the nod and she continues to attempt her case. Everyone else looks shocked very uncomfortable. Juan and Juli go back and forth until Rosa predictably tries to intervene and defend her little princess but Prospi cuts her off and instead demands that Juli tell them all the truth once and for all. Whose baby is it? Juli surprisingly acquiesces to daddy’s demand and admits the baby is Mateo’s!!! But she hates him!! (Note to Juli and people everywhere, don’t sleep with people you hate, that’s weird!) In fact, she detests him as much as she hates Juan! Juan says the typical how could you do this? I don’t even know who you are anymore! Pedro thinks Juan should calm down and show Juli some understanding!!! (LMAO) Cause you know, she lost everything overnight and was desperate and all – the way he says this, his tone of voice, it’s hard to know for sure if he’s defending her or mocking her. Juan does the opposite of calming down and starts screaming and Lucas jumps in with additional accusations of how Juli separated Juan from Sara. He tells her that she was just obsessed with beating Sara. Juli tells him to shut up, all he ever does is follow Sara and Juan around like a little puppy desperate for a little affection. Mateo jumps in and tells Juli not to speak to Lucas like that and Juli unleashes on him asking him if he's happy now.

Friday 10/7/22: Karmageddon, with a side of Guacamole: La Herencia

It's that time again! Karmageddon arrives at Santa Catalina to deal itself to the evil ones we have discussed and analyzed to a degree that Freud and Jung would applaud. The cliffhangers have been going in every direction and the evil ones have been so active that last weekend would have been almost too early for this discussion. The usual questions apply:

  • What do you think the writers will do to them?
  • What do you think they deserve?

If I have forgotten anything in the following, please advise so I can revise. This should include all data through episode 69.

La herencia #68 Thursday 10/6/22 Notes from the Couch . . .

This is in no way complete. Please feel free to add anything I omitted.

In  keeping with the equestrian influences at the hacienda:  WHOA!!! is all I can say after this episode .🐴

The Important Things:

1. Simón AKA BigBabySimón  confesses to having killed his father.  (but his story doesn't quite match what Agustín saw and was "encouraged" to forget    Hmmm . . .)

Juan goes BSC hearing BBS (Big Baby Simón) confess and throws him on the floor. Paloma goes to comfort BBS as Lucas and Paloma insist that BBS is upset and confused. All Juan wants to know is how did he kill their father. An hysterical BBS explains that he and Severiano were arguing in the SUV and he was threatening his father with telling  everyone that he was not the perfect husband but had his share of  lovers. Then something happened. He didn't know what and the SUV was thrown to the other side of the road landing on its roof. The driver was dead. He remembers his father complaining that he was stuck.

1.  Pablo violently rouses Deb from her sleep to warn her that they will all becoming and soon will know that Sara is not Severiano's daughter but Dante's. He tells her that she did a real good job in bringing Sara to their hacienda to fight for an inheritance that wasn't hers. He asks if she is going to deny that, too. When she says nothing he asks if the poison also affected her speech. As he goes to leave calling for Juan to tell him the truth, she screams at him to shut the door. Pedro returns to her bedside saying now they are understanding each other. Pedro informs her that her lover confessed the whole thing as she was asleep in the hospital. Now it is his turn to do some business with her. She knows that they both have a lot of vulnerabilities but reminds him not  to underestimate her. Also, since Sara renounced the inheritance, she has no money. He laughs and asks if she thinks that money is something that he needs. He emphasizes that he isn't her. The fact is that Sara has something in her womb that is much more valuable than the inheritance and it should never be born.  Deb looks really shaken as never before.Read more »

La herencia, #66 Tuesday, "Family trust, once it's broken it all turns to dust"

Sara thinks Pedro is making up the affair between Deb and Dante, and when he says Aurora told him, she is even more certain it’s not true. Pedro thinks she should investigate the matter, because it could hurt them all, but Sara insists they are only friends. Pedro reminds her Deb’s long string of lovers, Dante could be one of them. But defending Deb is where she’s an expert.

Mateo reads the DNA test several times and then says that Juli’s kid is not Juan’s, it must mean it’s his. He wants to go tell Juan immediately, but Julieta Baby warns him that this could hurt Juan, Juli has to be the one to admit the truth.

Juan refuses to believe Pedro is an assassin, but Corni insists, even if he doesn’t have the proof. Juan think his resentment is making him say these things, Corni realizes Juan is defending his brother like he has always done, but Pedro is a monster! Bryan tells Corni to calm down, then Modesto says he was aware of it, too, but had to keep quiet to avoid even more conflict.

La herencia, #65, Monday "Regrets of a father"

Brandon and Dulce talk about Sal being a cool guy. Dulce misses her family, but she also misses Brandon when she’s away.

Sara asks Adela to take her stuff and her mom’s stuff to the truck. Tears in her eyes, she remembers the day she first got to Santa Catalina, her first ride with Juan and how she fell from her horse. Pedro comes running down the stairs to beg her not to leave. Sara repeats that she cares deeply about him, but not the way he’d like. Lucas, that meddler, once again shows up to interrupt Pedro’s special moment with Sara, by asking her where she plans to go. Sara explains she’s going back to her apartment in Mexico. The hospital calls to let her know Deb is awake. Sara is very happy, hugs Lucas, even Pedro pretends to be happy to get his hug. Sara runs to the hospital, Lucas goes to tell Juan and Pedro sends a message to someone telling them to “send it”.

Send what, you might ask. The message was for Julieta, who is at the stables, with the untamed horse. She puts some green thingy under its saddle.

La Herencia # 64, Friday, 9/30/2022, Portrait of a Psychopath

Sara enters the office where Juan is waiting and declares that he was right, they need to talk. Juan tries to open the subject by telling Sara how important she is to him but Sara interrupts. She needs to tell him something important! She was going to wait til morning and tell him when all her brothers were present but there’s no point in waiting, she needs to tell him that she’s pregnant!!! (Knock me over with a feather I thought for sure she’d beat around the bush for a few more episodes before blurting that one out!)

Cori is drinking again, or more likely just still drinking, when Sal returns to the bar and gives the good news that Matti isn’t exactly a criminal mastermind and Paloma was able to prove Brandon innocent easily enough. Corni lets Sal know he replaced the bottle of wine that Sal let him borrow, he says something about giving it to a friend for his big date (I think) but he got a new bottle and put the bottle back where it belongs. Sal looks confused. Also Corni continues, Prospi came by to see Sal but he’s gone now. Sal gets up and walks to the bar, we hear him thinking that it could have been Corni who poisoned Deb as he looks down at the no longer missing bottle of wine remembering Brandon running in to tell them about Deb’s downfall (I know nothing about wine so I couldn’t tell if it was an expensive brand or not, also I don’t remember what brand Deb had or what Prospi bought…..maybe if the patio is more eagle-eyed someone can clue us in on whether or not that view of the wine label is significant) Corni looks bored, unconcerned, and not at all guilty.

La herencia #63 Thursday 9/29/22 Notes From the Couch . . . Still in Awe of the Chancla!

This is in no way complete. Please feel free to add anything I omitted.

The was such an entertaining episode with all of the dysfunction of the DelMonte family and others in full bloom.

THE MAIN EVENT:

Pedro has invited Aurora to come to the hacienda to close their deal. He tells her she doesn't have to worry about Juan because he will come out and let her in. Dante will be there along with a notary. Pedro likes things done "legally." Later, Pedro tells Dante to meet them "he knows where" at the hacienda. Pedro plans to find out which of Aurora's instincts is stronger: "to eat or to live" which is the same line she used on him when offering him some bread topped with rat poison. That night, Aurora enters the barn AKA torture central with Aurora wondering why Pedro didn't want to do business in the house. Dante advises her  not to ask so many questions but thinks that  Pedro didn't want to risk Juan seeing her. The notary is coming with Pedro (sure). She is happy that things  are turning out better than expected. Dane chuckles and agrees. Pedro arrives but Aurora notices that there is no notary with him. There are no papers for her to sign. She tells them she knew this was a trap and pulls a gun on them.  Pedro assures her that the notary and the papers are coming. She calls him a liar and a coward just like his father who  abandoned her with him and Juan in her arms. Pedro tells her to shut up. Her finger is on the trigger when somebody appears at the top of the staircase behind Pedro but is seen by no one.  Pedro has gotten close to Aurora who is accusing him of always being a traitor especially with Juan. He took Juan's bread to feed himself when there was no food. Pedro tells her to shoot him and kill him. He knows she wanted to since he was a child. Dante tries to calm  her down and have her lower the gun by showing her papers in his briefcase. Everything is in order. She makes the mistake of grabbing some papers and glancing at them.  Pedro is on her in a second. Dante give him a cloth with chloroform and she soon loses consciousness. Pedro tells Dante to leave. Dante asks  him what is he going to do. Pedro tells him to leave a second time and not to ask stupid questions. We see that it was Modesto standing on the stairs as he quickly leaves. Pedro drags the unconscious Aurora into his special room.

La herencia #62 Wednesday 9/28/22 Saying Something Doesn't Make it So.

This recapper says: I still want to be the girl on the dancing horse!

Anyway, here is the rest of the story . . .

1. Juli is literally crying on  Juan's shoulder who blames it all on Mateo who is continuing to bother her. Juan will talk to him but seems surprised because Mateo has shown that he has changed. Juli becomes indignant and says that he has to believe her because she is his wife. Juan knows that but Mateo is his brother, too. Juli thinks that Mateo wants to make their lives difficult. She starts begging him for a honeymoon so they can have some time to themselves and away from his family. Juan says "no can do" because the company is going through some very difficult times so, more than ever,  now is not the time that he should be leaving. She thinks it would be a great chance to let Pedro run the company. Juan says he can't do it. She argues that he will never know unless he gives Pedro a chance. Juan wonders about her defending Pedro. She insists that everything she does is for the sake of their child. Juan makes it clear that the only way that Pedro will get to be the president is if he is ousted by the board for having done a bad job. Juli doesn't miss a beat and  begins to complain about how nervous and upset she is about everything that has happened and how she found Deb. Juan looks like he has had it and turns to leave. Juli asks him not to go and whines for him to come back and to sleep in his bedroom.  She want them to be closer so that their baby can feel him there. . . please.
